IBM Relationship |
From An Eames Primer (2002) by Eames Demetrios:
Charles and Ray Eames were consultants with IBM. It was a special relationship that, from IBM’s standpoint, was not only about the numerous films, presentations, and educational products the Eameses created for IBM, but was also important because of the opportunity to use Charles and Ray’s vision and sensibility to gain insights for the future of the company. In his Office, Charles had a phone line that ran directly to Tom Watson’s office. As with their other key corporate relationships, for example, with Herman Miller, Inc., or Polaroid, Charles believed one always had to deal with the person at the top or on the frontlines to achieve the best results for all concerned.
